Dileep not be presented in court, nod for video conference
Kochi: The Angamaly Magistrate Court on Monday allowed the police request to hold video conference with actor Dileep, who was arrested in connection with actress attack and abduction case.
The police informed the court that Dileep cannot be presented in court on Tuesday given the security threat.
Further, they submitted a plea in court seeking permission to utilise the video conferencing facility.
Allowing the request, the court directed the officials to make necessary arrangements in this regard. The remand period of Dileep, who was arrested on July 10, will end on Tuesday.
Though Dileep approached the Kerala High Court with a bail petition, the court denied him bail citing that substantial evidences exist to prove his role in conspiracy.
Police submitted a total of 19 evidences before the court. Terming the case as a rare one, the court noted the crime is of serious nature.
The court observed that once the visuals come out, it will pose a threat to the life of the victim. Therefore, bail cannot be granted to the accused, it said.
