Central team’s report shows huge crop loss in Kerala drought
Thiruvananthapuram: The central team, which studied the drought situation in Kerala, has reported huge crop loss in the state due to drought.
The team has found 50 percent crop loss in the state. According to the them, cash crops are also affected. The central team held discussions with a team of state government officials headed by the Chief Minister on Friday.
The team studied drought situation in four districts for preparing the report. It also offered complete support to the state to handle the adverse situation.
A detailed report will be submitted to the Union Agriculture Ministry within a week. The state estimates a loss of Rs 992 crore.
