Ayiroor child abuse case: Case registered against doctors for delaying treatment
Pathanamthitta: Police on Saturday registered a case against two doctors of Kozhencherry district hospital in connection with the child molestation case at Ayiroor.
The case has been registered as per sections IPC 166 (A),166 (B) and POCSO act.
It has been reported that the five-year-old girl who was sexually assaulted was forced to wait for six long hours for medical examination after the doctors in the District hospital at Kozhenchery refused to examine her. The incident was reported on September 15.
The doctors made her wait at the hospital from 3 pm to 8 pm. The child got mentally disturbed after the incident.
R Girija, the district collector had sent the report submitted by Pathanamthitta District Medical Officer mentioniong the inefficiency of the doctors in treating the child, to the Secretary of Health Department.
Pathanamthitta Magistrate Court had issued directions to register case against the doctors.
