Kannur: After BJP’s Janaraksha Yatra, where the leaders indulged in jibes against CPM, Kannur is to witness the response of CPM through a series of protests.

Those of the CPM who were subjected to attack by the RSS-BJP, including the bedridden ones, will stage a satyagraha on Monday. It has been decided to observe the day as protest day. Also a day-long anti-fascist meet will be organised, said district secretary P Jayarajan.

They are of the opinion that if BJP, which has power in 17 states, is defending the CPM that has only 3 states to its credit, using their national leaders it is definitely one of their party's victory.

The CPM has decided to react to BJP’s actions at the national level as it will help to boost the anti-BJP sentiments and turn it to their favour.

They also think that, throughout the Yatra, BJP targeted chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan. But Amit Shah’s absence and Yogi Adityanath’s comments on Kerala have created a setback for the BJP.

Earlier the CPM had tried to bring out protest against BJP stating that majority of the people killed in political violence are CPM party members.

Monday’s protest is expected to mark the presence of almost 500 people, including the injured and the family of the killed.
