Thiruvananthapuram: Veteran CPM Leader and Administrative Reforms Commission Chairman VS Achuthanandan has asked everybody to ponder whether the UDF victory in Malappuram polls is the result of an assessment of the LDF government.

Poiting out that Kunhalikutty received 8 per cent less votes than what E Ahamed got, V S Achuthanandan said that the LDF could increase its vote percentage by 8 per cent.

CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan had said that the Malappuram polls will be an assessment of the LDF government. VS also had spoken in the same vein.

However, VS was not ready to say firmly whether the poll results was an assessment of the governance.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has opined that the Malappuram Lok Sabha poll results is not an assessment of the government’s performance and that the LDF has made gains in the polls.
