Private bus runs a day's trip for 10-year-old renal patient
Mavelikkara: Ten-year-old Sreehari from Malamelvadakkathil, Nadaykkavu, Chettikulangara, bedridden with renal complications has been given new hope by the locals and entrepreneurs who cooperated in the charity run of SLMS&S bus that services the route between Haripad and Mavelikkara.
The little boy bedridden with renal failure that has affected both his kidneys was grappling with the illness due to shortage of funds when, 'Mayilpeelikoottam', an alumni collective of the 1989 SSLC batch of Mattom St. Johns HSS came to his aid. The private bus, owned by Mr. Koshy who is a member of the collective, volunteered to run a day's trip exclusively for Sreehari's treatment support.
Mavelikkara CI Mr. Sreekumar inaugurated the charity run. A philanthropist who chose to stay anonymous contributed Rs. 25,000 to the charity drive. The effort bore fruit as the run could raise Rs.70,000 for the boy's treatment in a single day.
