Beypore: After repair works at the Kochi shipyard, M V Minicoy, the ship operated to Lakshadweep, reached Beypore on Monday. The navigation system of the ship had come under repair due to cyclone Ockhi and the ship was unable to operate service to the island.

Following directions of the Indian Shipping Registrar, the repair works were completed after a survey, and the ship reached Beypore with 120 passengers.

Kozhikode native Master Mariner K K Haridas, who left service as the captain of M V Minicoy, again resumed duty as the ship captain. Haridas had decided to resume his duties as a captain of M V Minicoy after the Kerala government and Beypore Port Pilot issued a license. M V Minicoy will leave Lakshadweep with passengers on Tuesday.
