Kannur: Police trapped two higher secondary students and an engineering student for stealing gold ornaments from own house to lead luxury life.

As a punishment, police put forward a condition that the three should report at the police station on every Sunday and on the days as asked by the police. Also they have to read books from the library and help to maintain the vegetable garden at the police station.

One of the students stole 21 sovereigns of gold from his house, while the second one took 6 sovereigns. The students’ family informed Chakkarakkallu police, after they noticed the teenagers coming late to home and leading a luxury life.

Later the police found the two students and the engineering student who helped them to sell the ornaments in a jewellery showroom. No case has been registered as no complaint has been lodged yet. The police helped their family to get back the price of the jewellery from the showroom.
