Actress Amala Paul who was about to play a lead role in Nivin Pauly-starring 'Kayamkulam Kochunni' has opted out of the movie. In her tweet, she said that she has decided to opt out of the movie as she has some date issues.

According to reports, Ezra-fame Priya Anand will be playing the female lead opposite Nivin Pauly in the movie.

Reports that said Amala was 'replaced' by Priya Anand seemed to have irked the former. In her tweet, Amala clarified that she was not replaced but opted out because of date issues.

“I am not joblessely cooking up stuff,” she added.

Sources reveal that Priya Anand is all set to make a reentry to Malayalam film industry after Ezra.

Kayamkulam Kochunny directed by Roshan Andrews is a period drama based on a folk tale in Kerala which narrates the story of a thief named Kochunni.

The script of the movie is penned by Boby and Sanjay.

The big budget movie under the banner of Sree Gokulam Movies will have an estimated budget of around Rs 12 crore.
