Not just the film industry, but the entire state heard the news about the attack on the actress in Kochi with shock and fear. Deepti Sati, who entered the Malayalam film field with Lal Jose’s Neena, talks to Grihalakshmi about the feeling of insecurity that the incident created.

Such an incident could deeply hurt a woman, the ‘Solo’ actor said in the interview. “The injuries to the body will heal, but the mental shock is huge. The actress has the support of everyone. She does not need anyone’s sympathy, she is a very strong woman,” Deepti said.   

GrihalakshmiDeepti said she felt increasingly insecure after that incident. “My family too was tensed a bit,” she added.  

Hailing the formation of the Women In Cinema Collective, Deepti said now there is a sense of confidence that one can fight for justice. She also shared concerns that how many such cases would have gone unreported in the past.
