I often face stomach pain and other associated stomach problems whenever I consume spicy food. I try to avoid such food as much as possible, but when I am attending a function or eating out, I take such spicy masala food and fall ill. Can you please tell me a natural remedy that I can have soon after consuming spicy foods which will sooth my stomach? (Jaya, Aluva)
For some people, spicy food brings out the best in taste but the worst in stomach problems. Dealing with stomach problems after a spicy meal can be disruptive and uncomfortable. The chemical capsaicin may be the culprit for the stomach pain, because when you eat chillies and the capsaicin within them comes in contact with the lining of your stomach, it can cause pain and temporary discomfort.
The easiest and most obvious way to prevent stomach pain from eating spicy foods is to avoid them all together. But if you just can't stop, there are other ways to manage your pain and discomfort. Eating dairy such as ice cream or cold milk can help neutralize the effects of capsaicin. Drinking peppermint tea and ginger root are common herbal treatments for upset stomach.

Strawberries are good circulation is thought to be crucial for sexual functioning in both men and women, and strawberries are rich in antioxidants that benefit your arteries. They’re rich in vitamin C, which along with antioxidants, has been linked to higher sperm counts in men. Try dipping the berries in dark chocolate, which contains methylxanthines that may activate the libido.
Avocados are rich in vitamin E, which has antioxidant properties, potassium, and vitamin B6, which may prevent or delay heart disease and promote better blood flow. They're also a good source of heart-healthy monounsaturated fats. Anything that helps your heart and circulation can also be critical for a healthy sex life. Men with heart disease are twice as likely to have erectile dysfunction because both conditions can result from artery damage.
Almonds contain zinc, selenium, and vitamin E, which are vitamins and minerals that seem to be important for sexual health and reproduction. Selenium can help with infertility issues and, with vitamin E, may help heart health. Zinc is a mineral that helps produce men's sex hormones and can boost libido. Blood flow is important for your sex organs, so choosing good fats, such as the omega-3 fatty acids found in almonds, is a good idea.
Sweet potatoes are rich in potassium, which helps fight high blood pressure, which is associated with a higher risk of erectile dysfunction. They're also rich in beta-carotene, providing the body with vitamin A, which is suspected (but not proven) to be helpful for those with infertility.
Sesame seeds contains Zinc, which is thought to be good for sexual health (it can help testosterone and sperm production in men) and the No. 1 source is oysters. Some breakfast cereals also contain zinc, such as Kellogg's All-Bran Complete Wheat Flakes. One serving (3/4 cup) has more than 100% of the recommended daily intake.
Watermelon is low in calories, but also high in potentially libido-boosting phytonutrients. The lycopene, citrulline, and beta-carotene found in watermelon may help relax blood vessels, and provide a natural enhancement for revving up your sex drive.

Food is the magical fuel that not only nourishes us to live a satisfied, accomplished and happy life but is also the reason you and I are alive. But fearing food is the best way to lose the plot.
and this fear of food doubles when we think of eating at night. Why? Do you believe that when the sun sets, your breathing, circulation or vision reduces? No! This beautiful human body is constantly working, even through the night when we are sleeping. The heart pumping action, the breathing through the lungs, the excretory system - all work 24*7, a feat no machine can ever match. Thus, fuelling this body is essential, be it before or after the sun has set.
Eating a very large, lavish dinner results in Weight Gain! .Eating a large, high-sugar or highfat meal at night overloads your digestive system. It doesn't get adequate rest through the night, thereby slowing your body physically and mentally the next day.
The key here is to maintain a balance. Eat a light, healthy, carb-included, small dinner every night and see how easily you fall asleep. You'll wake up happy, fresh and full of life the next day, it will clear your bowels and last but not the least, it will help you lose some weight along the way!
