Oats Idli is a healthy breakfast dish with an easy to prepare recipe. For all the calorie conscious out there, this is one you should definitely try.
Oats – 1 cup
Rava – 1 cup
Curd – 4 tsp
Carrot (grated) – Half piece
Onion (chopped) – I no
Green chili – 2 nos
Ginger – I small piece
Oil – 2 tsp
Bengal gram – 1 tsp
Curry leaves- Accordingly
Coriander leaves (chopped) – Accordingly
Baking soda – A pinch (Not necessary)
Salt – To taste
In a pan heat the oil. Add Bengal gram to it and roast. Then add onion, ginger, green chili, carrot, curry leaves and coriander leaves to this and saute for 5 minutes.
Then add oats and rava to this and heat it. Then keep aside for cooling.
To this add curd and baking powder and mix well.
Then make this mixture in idli batter’s consistency.
Grease the idli steamer plates with oil and pour the batter into each area of the steamer. Steam the idlis for 15 minutes.
Once done remove the idlis and serve with peppermint chutney.
