Green gram dosa (Pesarattu)
Green gram dosa or Pesarattu is easy to prepare and also very nutritious. It is a popular food native to Andhra Pradesh.
Whole green gram (soaked for one hour) - 2 cup
Raw rice (soaked for one hour) – ½ cup
Asafoetida powder ¼ tsp
Coriander leaves chopped ¼ cup
Onions chopped ¼ cup
Green chillies sliced
Salt as required
Oil as required
Grind together soaked green gram and rice. Add salt, green chillies, coriander leaves, onion and asafoetida powder and mix. The batter should not be too thick.
Heat a tava, pour a ladle of batter and spread it on the tava. Drizzle a teaspoon of oil around the dosa. After it gets cooked, flip it over to the other side, drizzle a little oil and cook until done. Serve hot with coconut chutney.
