Fish is something inevitable from our cuisine.

Try Hamour thala meen curry to change from the daily common fish curries. 


Hamour fish-head – ½ Kilo

Tomato – 1 no

Onion – 1 no

Cumin – 1 tsp

Green chili – 3 no

Coconut (scrapped) – ½ piece

Fenugreek powder – ½ tsp

Kashmiri chili powder – 2 tsp

Coriander powder – 1 tsp

Turmeric powder – 1 tsp

Salt – To taste

Turmeric – To taste


Marinate the fish-head with turmeric powder and salt and keep aside.

In a pan add oil and in low flame heat the chili powder and coriander powder. Remove from flame and grind it with coconut scrape, cumin and turmeric powder.

Now in the pan add oil and add the sliced tomato, onion and green chili. Saute for some time. To this add the grinded mixture, turmeric and water and mix properly.

When it starts boiling add the marinated fish-head to it. When cooked properly, add curry leaves and fenugreek powder and mix well.

If required, add roasted onion pieces to it and remove from flame.
