Ingredients:

1/2 kg Fish (any meaty fish)

1 ½ cup thin coconut milk

½ cup thick coconut milk

½ tsp pepper powder

1 tsp turmeric powder

1 tsp lemon juice

5 garlic cloves chopped

1 tomato thinly sliced

2 tsp ginger chopped

3 green chillies sliced

2 onions sliced

1 small piece of cinnamon

1 cardamom

Curry leaves

1 tsp oil

Salt as required

Preparation:

Marinate the fish pieces with pepper powder, turmeric powder, salt and lemon juice. Keep it aside for 30 minutes. Shallow fry the marinated fish until partly cooked.

Sauté the curry leaves in the remaining oil. Saute cardamom, cinnamon, ginger, green chillies and garlic. Add some turmeric powder and pepper powder to it and saute again.

Add sliced onion and saute till it turns golden brown. Add the thin coconut milk along with the fried fish to this. Cover it with a lid and let it cook in low flame. When the gravy thickens, add the tomato and the thick coconut milk. Add salt as required and remove from stove.
