Christmas turkey is an essential part of the traditional Christmas dinner especially Thanksgiving. Turkey occupies the center of the dinner table.

Ingredients

Turkey – 1 whole bird

Butter – 250g

Pepper powder – 2 tsp

Ginger paste – 2 tsp

Garlic paste – 2 tsp

Onion – 1 no

Lemon – 1 no

Capsicum – 1 no

Parsley / Coriander leaves – 2 stalks

Preparation

Clean the turkey taken as a whole without removing the skin. Sprinkle pepper powder inside the turkey neck hole. Then place the onion, lemon and capsicum inside. Now take the butter and add pepper powder, parsley leaves, lemon juice and mix well.

Lift the loose skin of the turkey and spread the mixture and massage till the meat turn tender. Also spread the mixture on the top of the loose skin. Now tie the legs of the turkey together and keep inside the oven and bake for 20 minutes.

Later, take the turkey out and shift to the serving dish. Remove the onion, capsicum and lemon from inside the turkey. It can be used to garnish the turkey.

The chicken stalk remaining in the baking tray can be used for preparation of side dish.
