Easy to make Caramel Custard
A yummy dessert with basic ingredients like egg, milk and condensed milk. It can be steamed in a pressure cooker or baked in the oven.
Milk - 400 ml
Egg - 2 numbers
Sugar - 4 tbsp
Cornflour - 1 tsp
Sugar for caramelising - 2 tbsp
Vanilla essence - ½ tsp
Boil milk in a vessel on medium flame and condense on low flame till reduced to 2/3 of its volume. Beat eggs, cornflour (dissolved in milk), vanilla and sugar together and add the mix to the condensed milk. Caramelise sugar in the mould meant for preparing the custard.
Let the caramel cool down a bit before gradually adding the custard preparation. Pre-heat oven at 200 Degree C for 10 minutes. Place the caramel custard mix and bake for 30 minutes.
For those who do not use an oven, this can also be prepared on a gas stove. Cover the custard preparation in an aluminium soil and steam for one hour. Allow it to cool down before serving.
