PG Med: MCI cautions students of fake counselling notification
New Delhi: The Medical Council of India has cautioned students seeking admission to PG Medical and Dental courses in the country against fake counselling notification issued by some medical colleges. The notification relating to filling up of seats under NRI category and Management Quota by medical colleges on their own is fake and forged, stated MCI in a relases.
"Such notification bears the date 11 th April 2017 is not signed and it has not been published by the Medical Council of India. This notification is fake, forged and fabricated," the release stated.
The fake notification was widely circulated in electronic media such as WhatsApp and email.
Stating that medical admission in the country would be through common counselling on inter se merit of National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test, the MCI said, the fake notification appeared to be the handwork of unscrupulous elements trying to disrupt the admission process through common counselling.
The Council is in the process of lodging complaint with the Authorities in this regard against unknown persons who have indulged in this criminal act.
