Kochi: In the wake of complaints from students that self-financing colleges are still demanding bank guarantee, the Kerala High Court today stiffly ordered for scrapping of the same. Strictly forbidding the practice, court observed that the Controller of Entrance Examinations should ensure that no colleges ask for bank guarantee. 

Students who got enrolled in the Travancore Medicity Medical College in Kollam had approached the court complaining that the college was asking for bank guarantee. Many students had gained the verdict in their favour.

Today, as more students approached citing complaint on the same, the court strictly ordered the self-financing colleges not to ask for bank guarantee.

Earlier the Commissioner of Entrance Examinations had ordered the same, but many colleges still continued to demand it.
