CBSE scholarship for single girl child for Plus Two studies
New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has invited applications under the ‘CBSE Merit Scholarship Scheme for Single Girl Child’ from those pursuing Plus Two course.
The objective of the scheme is to provide scholarships to the meritorious Single Girl Students, who are the ‘only child of their parents’ and have passed the CBSE Class X Examination with prescribed percentage/grade and are continuing their further school education of Class XI and XII. The scheme is aimed to recognise the efforts of the parents in promoting education among girls and to provide encouragement to meritorious students. All children born together are single girl child of their parents.
Eligibility: Applicants should be Indian nationals and single girl students, who have passed CBSE Class X Examination in 2017, securing 60% / 6.2 CGPA or more marks / grades in CBSE Class X Examination and are studying Class XI in a school, affiliated with CBSE, where the tuition fee is not more than Rs. 1,500 per month during the academic year. The student must continue her school studies in Class XI and XII in this school and the total enhancement in tuition fee in the next two years in such school should not be more than 10% of the tuition fee charged now. NRI applicants of the Board are also eligible for the award. The tuition fee for the NRIs should not exceed Rs. 6,000 per month.
The scholarship is given on the basis of merit, based on the result of CBSE Class X Examination. A Scholar under this scheme can enjoy other concession(s) given by the school in which she is studying or other organization(s), while availing scholarship.
The Scholarship awarded shall be renewed for a period of one year on successful completion of class XI and on promotion to the next class, subject to the applicant securing 50% or more marks in aggregate in the examination which determines her promotion to next class.
The renewal/ continuation of the scholarship, in cases where a scholar gives up the chosen course of study before its completion or changes the school or course of study shall be subject to prior approval of the Board. Good conduct and regularity in attendance are required for continuance of scholarship. The decision of the Board shall be final and binding in all such matters. A Scholarship once cancelled shall not be renewed under any circumstances.
The number of scholarships for a particular year shall be variable. Scholarship will be awarded to all ‘Single Girl Students’ who have secured 60% / 6.2 CGPA or more marks / grades in the CBSE Class X Examination, in a year.
The amount of scholarship will be Rs. 500 per month. A Scholarship awarded under the scheme shall be paid for a maximum period of two years. Payment will be made through Demand Drafts/ECS.
Application: Applications can be submitted online at the ‘SGC-X-Fresh Application’ link at http://18.104.22.168/cbse/2017/sgcx/ by entering the Roll No. and Certificate No. as printed on the Class X certificate. Applicant should note down the Registration Number shown on the page. This has to be used for uploading documents and also for all other future communications. Applicant should print the undertaking as provided in the ‘Guidelines Document’ at http://22.214.171.124/cbse/2017/sgcx/, fill it, paste the photograph and get it attested from school. Affidavit as per format provided in the ‘Guidelines Document’ has to be prepared. Original Affidavit has to be attested by the First Class Judicial Magistrate/ SDM/ Executive Magistrate/Notary in the prescribed format. Photocopy of Affidavit will not be accepted. These two documents (Affidavit and Undertaking), should be scanned so as to create JPG image file of size not exceeding 1MB. They should then be uploaded through ‘Upload Document’ option at the application website. Applicant should then go to the ‘Confirmation Page’ option and generate the confirmation page.
Application form (Confiramtion page) should be attested by the Principal of the school where the student is pursuing Class XI, after passing Class X from Board’s Examination.
The filled up, signed conformation page has to be and sent to ‘Scholarship Unit, CBSE, Shiksha Kendra, 2 Community Centre, Delhi-110092’.
