mechatronicsKozhikode: The Government Engineering College, Thiruvanathapuram has invited applications for Advanced Diploma in Automotive Mechatronics (ADAM). The programme is one of the social-oriented programmes initiated by Mercedes-Benz India in collaboration with prestigious Government Institutions across India. The course aims to train aspiring engineers on latest automotive technology using latest, world-class tools and equipments to fulfill the need for skilled human resources in automotive field. 

Course Modules : The Course consists of four modules –Mechanical, Electronics, Vehicle Systems & Soft Skills

-Candidates who have a Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering / Automobile Engineering / Electrical & Electronics Engineering / Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering / Mechatronics / Applied Electronics and equivalent disciplines.
-Final year B.Tech. students with 6.5 CGPA till seventh semester and without live back papers are also eligible.

How to apply
Application forms are available on the website of Government Engineering College, Barton Hill, Thiruvananthapuram Candidates seeking admission can send downloaded and duly filled in application form. The form should accompany a Demand Draft of Rs 500/-(Rs. 250/- for SC/ST candidates) in the name of “Coordinator, ADAM, Government Engineering College, Barton Hill” drawn on any SBT branch and payable at Trivandrum. All such applications will be scrutinized and eligible candidates will be called for the entrance test. Result of the entrance test and list of finally selected candidates will be displayed on website within 10 days after entrance test. 

Admission process
Admission to the course is through entrance test conducted at the college. Entrance test comprises of theory as well as practical tests. The examination is scheduled on 20/05/17 at GEC Barton Hill. 

Course Duration and Fee
Course duration is one year with a fee of Rs. 85,000/-. Mercedes-Benz, India offers scholarship to one lady candidate and two economically backward candidates who secure admission to the course.
