VITEEE 2018; Application last date extended upto March 15
Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), has extended the date of applying for admission to the VIT Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE), 2018 for admission to the B.Tech. programmes, offered by the Institute in various campuses upto 15 March 2018.

Eligibility: Applicant should be a Resident / Non-Resident Indian National/PIO/OCI holder. PIO/OCI applicants should have studied in schools located in India in the preceding two years.
Applicant should have been born on or after 1st July 1996. Applicant should have completed the age of 17 years as on 1st July of the admission year.
Applicant should have either completed or shall be appearing in 2018, in any one of the following qualifying examinations:
The final examination of the 10+2 system of Higher Secondary Examination conducted by the State Board, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE, New Delhi), The Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (ISCE, New Delhi)
Intermediate or Two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized Board/ University
High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Organisation, Geneva
General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London/Cambridge/Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level
NIOS candidates are also eligible to apply. They should submit Migration-Cum-Transfer certificate at the time of admission
Applicant should have secured an aggregate of 60% in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology in the qualifying examination (+2/Intermediate). The average marks obtained in the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biology (PCM/PCB) in +2 (or its equivalent) put together should be 50% for candidates belonging to SC/ST and candidates hailing from Jammu and Kashmir and the North Eastern states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura.
Those who have studied Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics are eligible for all the B.Tech. Degree Programmes. Those who have studied Physics, Chemistry and Biology are eligible for B.Tech Bioengineering and B.Tech. Biotechnology programmes. They are also eligible for ECE with Specialization in Biomedical Engineering, B.Tech. Computer Science and Engg (Specialization in Bioinformatics) but after joining, registering for Mathematics as bridge course is mandatory.
Test Structure: VITEEE-2018 will be a Computer Based Test (CBT) of 2 hours and 30 minutes duration, to be conducted from 4.4.2018 to 15.4.2018. The exam will be conducted as 3 sessions per day with Session I, from 9 am-11.30 am, Session II from 12.30 pm-3 pm and Session III from 4 pm-6.30 pm. It will have Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) from Physics (Part I); Chemistry (Part-II); Mathematics / Biology (Part-III) and English (Part-IV). Each part will have 40 questions with 5 questions from English, with each question carrying one mark. Each question is followed by 4 alternative answers. The candidate will have to choose the correct answer and click the same. There are no negative marks for wrong answers. The Question paper will be in English only. A candidate is allowed to appear in anyone specified session only, with PCME/PCBE combination. Those attempting Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics & English are eligible for all the B.Tech programmes offered. Those attempting Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English are eligible for B.Tech Biotechnology, B.Tech. Bioengineering, B.Tech. CSE (specialization in Bioinformatics) and ECE with specialization In Biomedical Engineering programmes.
The selection of subjects (Physics/Chemistry/ Mathematics or Biology/English) has to be mentioned in the application form itself.
The questions will primarily be from the State Board of Higher Secondary Education and the CBSE syllabus. The syllabus for the Entrance Examination is given in Appendix-IV of the Brochure.
A mock test will be available at www.vit.ac.in to provide awareness of the procedure and to get used to the various components of the exam. The mock test will be in the form of flash file that can be downloaded to the system and the candidate can go through the entire flash file of the demo/mock test any number of times.
Exam Centres: VITEEE-2018 will be held in 124 cities. The list of Test Cities along with their corresponding codes is given in Appendix- III of the information brochure.
Application: Application can be submitted online at www.vit.ac.in or using OMR Application form.
Application fee of Rs.1150/- may be paid through Net banking /Credit card/Debit card. NRI candidates may pay the fee of 50USD by way of Demand Draft in which case, the hard copy of the application form along with the demand draft has to be sent to the University. The online applicants need not send the hard copy of the application form to the University.
The Prospectus, Application Form and a printed self-addressed envelope, can be obtained against cash payment of Rs.1200/- (Inclusive of GST) - from the various post offices as per the list given at www.vit.ac.in.
Application form and documents can also be obtained in person from (i) VIT University, Vellore Campus (ii) VIT University, Chennai Campus (iii) VIT Bhopal and (iv) VIT AP by submitting a Demand Draft for Rs.1200/- (Inclusive of GST) drawn in favour of ‘VIT University’, payable at the respective campuses. In such cases, the filled application, refolded along the original fold only, inserted in the envelope provided should be sent either by Registered Post or Speed Post to reach the office on or before February 28, 2018. Applicant should fill the Test City Code, Subject and tick the checklist on the envelope provided.
Once the application is received by VIT, a message will be sent through SMS to the candidates stating that their application has been received at VIT. The candidates can also track the status of their application by typing their application number in the VIT website. However, this feature can be availed only after 3 weeks of despatch of their application.
Online Test Booking System: Applicants will have to book the test schedule at the ‘Online Test booking system’, which is a web based online scheduling system available at www.vit.ac.in. For both OMR and online applicants, the password will be sent by email to the email address mentioned in the application form. Candidate should first choose the Test City which should be the same as the one chosen in the application form, the date and the batch for the exams. The schedule bookings are done on a ‘first-come-first-served basis’, and are subject to the availability of the test centre, date and time. In case of non-booking of slot, the slot will be booked automatically by the University based on the information given on the application form.
Online Test Booking Procedure: While booking test schedule, applicant may keep a photocopy of the application form you submitted and the Online Test Booking Password. In case of non-availability of slots in the test centre of choice, the candidate may choose to book a slot in an alternative centre / date. The online test booking system is available only for those eligible candidates who have submitted the application form complete in all respects on or before the last date mentioned.
Once the booking is complete, the e-Admit card will be generated which needs to be printed by the student from the same page. Reprint option is also available on the same URL link.
The e-Admit card will be generated once the candidate has booked his/her schedule through the Online Test Booking System. Candidate should provide the application form number and Online Test Booking password to download the e-Admit card. The copy of the e-Admit card will also be emailed to the candidate.
Candidate should report to the selected test centre with the e-Admit card, Photocopy of the application form and a photo identity card which may be one among, School or college Photo ID card; Twelfth Standard board exam hall ticket (or) admit card bearing photo; Aadhar Card; Passport; Driving License; Voter ID card; IT Pan card.
Rank List: A merit list will be prepared based on the total marks secured in VITEEE-2018 and will be called for the counselling. The entrance examination results will be available at www.vit.ac.in by April 25, 2018 (tentative).
Toppers of each State Board and Central Board taking admission will get 100% Tuition fee waiver for all the four years. VITEEE rank holders of 1 to 50 will get 75% Tuition fee waiver, VITEEE rank holders of 51 to 100, will get 50% Tuition fee waiver and VITEEE rank holders of 101 to 1000, will get 25% Tuition fee waiver for all the four years.
