Hyderabad: National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRD & PR), Ministry of Rural Development, Govt. of India, located at Rajendranagar, Hyderabad-500030, has invited applications for admission to the Post Graduate Diploma In Rural Development Management (PGDRDM), January-December 2018 sessions.

The fully residential One-year ‘Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Development Management (PGDRDM)’ is offered with an aim to create a committed and competent cadre of rural development professionals in the country. The programme seeks to impart management techniques that will enhance the understanding of the paradigm and practice of rural development.

Eligibility: Applicant should have Graduation in any discipline from a UGC recognized University. Those in the final year and expecting to complete all the requirements of graduation before 1st January, 2018, may also apply.

Selection Process: Selection of candidates will be made through an All-India Entrance Test to be conducted on 19.11.2017 at Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jammu, Kolkata, Lucknow, New Delhi, Patna, Pune and Thiruvananthapuram. NIRDPR may cancel any of the centres or add new centres for any administrative reasons and assign any other centre to the applicants.

The test will test the verbal, quantitative and analytical competencies of the students including English Language. Group Discussion and Personal Interviews will be conducted for the short-listed candidates.

Course Fee: The Course fee for Open / OBC Category will be Rs.1.60 Lakhs (excluding boarding and lodging). For SC/ST/PWD category, it will be Rs.1.25 Lakhs (excluding boarding and lodging)

Board and Lodging: The annual board and lodging expenses will be Rs.1,00,000/-. Accommodation will be given to the students in the NIRDPR Hostel.

Caution Deposit: A refundable Caution Deposit of Rs.10,000 is to be paid along with the First Trimester Fee.

Seat Registration Fee: Upon selection, a non-refundable Seat Registration Fee of Rs.25,000 should be paid by the Indian students. This amount will be adjusted against the First Trimester Fee.

Scholarships: Ten students will be eligible for NIRDPR’s Scholarship based on their performance. The North Eastern Council, Shillong, will be approached for giving fellowships to economically backward students of North Eastern states.

Reservation: Reservations for the students of the SC/ST/OBC (Non-creamy layer) and Persons with Disability (PWD) will be made as per Government of India norms.

Placement: NIRDPR will make efforts for placement, but does not guarantee the same.

Application: Application has to be submitted online at http://www.nird.org.in/pgdrdm.aspx. The applications format can be downloaded from the website and sent by post.

The filled in online form (Hard copy) /downloaded application form should be submitted along with the Application Fee of Rs.400/- (Rs.200/- for SC/ST and PWD candidates) through an Account Payee Demand Draft drawn in favour of NIRDPGDRDM, payable at Hyderabad.

The filled in application form should be sent to the ‘Coordinator (Admissions), Centre for Post Graduate Studies and Distance Education, National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad-500030’, so as to reach on or before 10.11.2017.

Last date for the submission of filled in applications from the students of North Eastern States, Jammu & Kashmir, Andaman & Nicobar Island and Lakshadweep is 15.11.2017.
