Hyderabad: National Institute of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj (NIRD & PR), Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India, functioning at Rajendranagar, Hyderabad-500030, has invited applications for admission to the one year, two semesters, distance mode, Post Graduate Diploma in Sustainable Rural Development (PGDSRD) Programme commencing on 1st January, 2018. Medium of Instruction is English.

Printed self-instructional material and proximate contact centers spread across the country are the highlights of the Program. Participation in Contact Session is not compulsory and it will not carry any marks. However, those Students participating in them will be benefitted.

PGDSRD Course will have 30 marks for the continuous evaluation through assignments and 70 marks for semester end examinations (Total 100 Marks). The students will also have to undertake a project relating to Rural Development in the second semester which will also carry 100 Marks.

Applicant should hold a graduate degree in any discipline from a UGC recognized University. For foreign applicants, degree of their university should be recognized by their government and their competence in English should be ensured.

Programme Fee: Rs. 10,000/- (for Gen/OBC) & Rs. 9,000/- (for SC/ST/PH), to be deposited in two equal installments at the commencement of each Semester. For sponsored candidates, full Fee will have to be deposited at the time of admission. Fee for NRIs and foreign nationals is US $ 1700 to be paid at the time of admission.

The filled-in application accompanied by a demand draft for Rs. 500/- (for Gen/OBC) & Rs. 300/- (for SC/ST/PH candidates) drawn in favour of ‘NIRD-DEC-PGD-SRD’ payable at Hyderabad, towards application fee (There is no application fee for NRIs and foreign nationals), along with attested copies of the required certificates as mentioned in the Application Form should reach ‘Professor and Head, Centre for PG Studies and Distance Education, National Institute of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad, Telangana- 500030’, latest by 30th November, 2017.
