BAMS/BYNS courses at BHU: Apply by August 14
Banaras Hindu University, Varanasl (UP), has invited applications for admission to the Bachelor of Ayurveda Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) course under the Faculty of Ayurveda at the Institute of Medical Sciences & Self-financing Bachelor of Naturopathy and Yoga Science (BNYS) Course at Rajeev Gandhi South Campus, Barkaccha, Mirzapur for the Academic Session, 2018-19.
Applicant should be an Indian National. Applicant should have passed the Intermediate Science or Pre-medical Course/12 years of 10+2 examination or equivalent examination of a recognized Indian University/Board/Council with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English. Applicant of General category, should have obtained not less than 50% marks in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together at the Qualifying examination. General PC applicants need 45% marks while SC/ST/OBC categories need only 40% marks in these subjects.
Applicant should complete 17 years of age, latest by 31st December, 2018. The upper age limit for BAMS and BNYS admission is 25 years as on the date of NEET 2018 (6th May, 2018). It is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST/OBC/PC categories. General category candidates should have been born on or between 7 May 1993 and 1 January 2002 while those of SC/ST/OBC/PC should be born on or between 7 May 1988 and 1 January 2002.
Application: Applications for BHU BAMS and BNYS can be submitted online at www.imsbhu.formzero.in latest by 11.59 pm on 14 August 2018.
Registration fee is Rs.1000/- for General/OBC applicants and Rs.750/- for SC/ST applicants. The fee can be paid online using Credit/Debit card (ATM Card) or using Internet banking.
Selection: Selection will be based on the merit in NEET UG 2018. In case more than one student gets the same mark in NEET UG 2018, the tie will be broken by considering the marks obtained in Zoology, Botany, Chemistry and Physics in NEET UG 2018 in that order and finally the age would be considered with the older candidate getting preference over the younger.
Those selected for admission should be medically fit on medical examination on a date as fixed by the Director by the Medical Board constituted by the Director, IMS, BHU Varanasi for the purpose,. If a candidate does not appear personally before the admission committee for counseling/interview or does not come for the medical examination on the fixed date, the provisional admission will be cancelled.
Counselling and Medical Check up will be held in the last week of August.
Certificates/Documents to be produced in Original at the time of Counseling/Interview include (i) Admit cards issued for NEET- 2018 (ii) Rank letter and marks card (iii) Date of birth certificate (iv)High school certificate (v) 10+ 2 / intermediate certificate (vi) 10+ 2/ Intermediate mark sheet (vii) Caste Certificate for SC and ST category (viii) Central Government OBC category non-creamy layer Certificate Issued within 6 months (ix) Physically Challenged (PC) certificate from authorized Central Body as mentioned In the Bulletin (x) Transfer certificate (xi) Migration Certificate (xii) Character certificate. Applicant should keep 4 copies of passport size coloured identical photograph as uploaded in the application form.
The date of commencement of classes will be announced later.
Reservation of seats will be as follows: OBC-27%; SC-15%, ST-7.5%, PH-3%. Of the 60 seats for BAMS, General seats are 31. OBC will have 16 seats, SC, 9 and ST, 4 seats. Within these, there are 2 seats reserved for PC applicants.
For BNYS there are 30 seats: General-15, oBC-8, SC-5, ST-2. One seat is reserved for PC category.
There is no course fee for BAMS. Only University and other fee have to be paid as per existing rules. The course fee for BNYS is Rs.50000/- per annum. University and other fee have to be paid as per existing rules.
