Bachelor/Masters admissions at FDDI; Apply by April 2
Footwear Design and Development Institute, an Institution of National Importance, providing world class education in the fields of Footwear Design and Production, Leather Goods and Accessories Design, Retail and Fashion Merchandise and Fashion Design, has invited applications for admission to the various Bachelor and Master degree programs offered by it for 2018-19.
The programs have been developed with a view to fulfil the student’s needs for Improvement of skills, acquisition of professional qualification, continuing educational and professional development at work place, Diversification of knowledge and Self-enrichment.
Programmes: Bachelor of Design (B. Des) Programmes of 4 years duration is offered in (i) Footwear Design & Production (ii) Leather Goods & Accessories Design (iii) Retail & Fashion Merchandise and (iv) Fashion Design.
Master of Design (M. Des) Degree Programmes of 2 years duration is offered in (i) Footwear Design & Production and (ii) CAD.
Master of Business Administration (MBA) is offered in Retail & Fashion Merchandise.
Seats: At total 1500 seats are available for the UG Programs offered at Noida, Rohtak, Kolkata, Fursatganj, Chennai, Jodhpur, Chhindwara, Patna, Chandigarh, Guna, Hyderabad and Gujarat centres. There are 450 seats for Footwear Design & Production, 480 for Retail & Fashion Merchandise, 150 for Leather Goods & Accessories Design and 420 for Fashion Design,
There are 720 seats for the Masters Programmes of which, 300 are for Footwear Design & Production, 390 are for Retail & Fashion Merchandise and 30 for CAD.

Eligibility: For the Bachelor Degree (B.Des) programmes, applicant should have passed the 10+2 /Intermediate.
Eligibility for Master Degree programmes:
M. Des -Footwear Design & Production: Applicant should be a Graduate in Footwear / LGAD / Design / Engineering /Production / Technology or any other related programme.
M.Des- CAD: Applicant should be a Graduate in Footwear / LGAD / Design / Engineering /Production / Technology/Fine arts or any other related programme.
M.B.A (Retail & Fashion Merchandise): Applicant should be a Graduate in any discipline.
Those appearing in final year may also apply for all Bachelor/Master Degree programmes, subject to submission of the final result of qualifying degree/certificate providing his/her eligibility latest by 30th September, 2018 to their Admission Officer, where the admission has been granted, failing which, the admission will be cancelled and fee forfeited.
Age Limit: Age Limit for Bachelor Degree programmes is 25 Years as on 25th July 2018. For Master Degree programmes, there is no age limit.
Applicants should possess good communication skills in English and they should have good command in written and spoken English language.
Selection Test: Eligible candidates are required to appear for All India Selection Test (AIST) which will be a Computer Based Multiple Choice Examination. AIST will be conducted over multiple sessions in a day, on 27, 28 and 29 April 2018 at Agra, Allahabad, Ankleshwar, Bareilly, Bengaluru, Bhubneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Chhindwara, Chittorgarh, Dehradun, Delhi, Ghaziabad, Gorakpur, Guna, Guwahati, Gwalior, Hyderabad, Indore, Jabalpur, Jaipur, Jalandhar, Jammu, Jamshedpur, Jodhpur, Kanpur, Kochi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Meerut, Mumbai, Noida, Patna, Raibareilly, Ranchi, Rohtak, Shimla and Vishakhapattanam.
FDDI entrance test shall be for 2 ½ hours duration and conducted in English & Hindi languages. There will be a total of 200 objective type questions. Examination for Bachelor Degree Programmes will have 4 sections, each carrying 50 marks. Section A- Quantitative Aptitude, Section B- Verbal Ability, Section C- General Awareness and Section D - Business Aptitude Test (BAT) for B.Des- RFM or Design Aptitude Test (DAT) for Design Programmes.
For Masters Programmes also, the test will have 4 sections: Section A- Quantitative Aptitude, Section B- English Comprehension & Analytical Ability, Section C- General Knowledge & Current Affairs and Section D- Management Aptitude for Management Programmes- for MBA-RFM or Design Aptitude Test (DAT) for Design Programmes, M.Des-FDP & M.Des-CAD.
Each question will carry 1 mark. There shall be no negative marking. The Examination is conducted in Hindi /English medium only.
Candidate can collect sample test papers by paying online or from FDDI Campuses on payment basis.
Those applying for MBA (Retail & Fashion Merchandise) who have appeared in any of CAT/XAT/MAT/AIMA/JMET/NMAT/AMCAT/SNAP/GMAT/AIM-CAT/ or other equivalent entrance test, shall be exempted from appearing in the AIST provided they have obtained scores in the examination.
Applications: Applications can be registered online, at http://www.fddiindia.com/, latest by April 2, 2018. Applicant will have to upload his/her recent passport size photograph (size not more than 90 kb) and scanned signature (size note more than 30 kb).
Applicant can select the centre and date of his / her choice from the dates given on the Registration Form for appearing in AIST. Applicants have an option to choose the date according to their convenience. Applicant is required to give 4 choices for examination centre in the Registration Form in order of his / her preference. FDDI would allot exam centre as per availability. The allotment of centre of examination and date shall be given on first come first serve basis.
Those applying under the ‘Reserved Category’, (SC/ ST/ OBC/ PH/ Disabled) must upload a self-attested documentary proof, as applicable. Those applying under exemption for written exam must upload scanned copy of his / her relevant score card or admit card (in case result is awaited) of the exam in which he/she has appeared.
The Registration Fee is Rs.500/- to be paid online using Debit/Credit card. After online payment the process will be ended providing the applicant the User Id and password in the mentioned mobile number and Email ID for further notifications.
A person can apply for more than one programme of the same level by paying for a single registration form but filling the programme code in accordance to their preference of programmes as mentioned in the Registration Form. Those for Bachelor programme can apply for other Bachelor programmes only, in the same form by using the choice filling option available.
If one wishes to apply for both Bachelor & Master Degree programme, he/she has to fill two separate Online Registration forms.

Admit Cards bearing the address of Exam Centre and Date of Exam for online examination shall be uploaded at http://www.fddiindia.com/
Short listed applicants would be communicated their test centers, session and test time details through admit card, which shall be uploaded on the admission website. It is mandatory for the candidate to carry a printed copy of his / her admit card (with photograph pasted on it) to the allotted Test Centre along with valid identity proof such as Voter’s ID Card/Passport / Driving license / Identity Card issued by previous institution. The candidate would be allowed to appear for the entrance exam only on validation of his / her identity by the center administrator located at each center.
Merit List: An All India Merit List shall be prepared on the basis of the result of AIST by last week of May 2018.
Seat Allotment: The programme & campus shall be allocated to the candidate on the basis of his / her rank and preference. Successful candidate shall be called for the counselling in the order of his/ her rank. Admissions shall be made strictly on merit basis (Rank-wise) and counselling / admissions shall continue till all the seats get filled-up. A candidate who is allotted a seat has to pay an amount of Rs. 5000/- on the spot to reserve the seat. The amount submitted shall not be refunded in case of withdrawal of admission. The candidates shall be given 10 working days from the day of Counselling to deposit the balance fee.
Seats are reserved for SC (15%), ST (7.5%) and OBC (Non Creamy) (27%) in each programme.
