Sreeju, lover of fruit trees, dies in Canada accident
Sreeju Nair, known to Keralites as a lover of fruit trees who introduced many foreign varieties of fruits to India, died in a truck accident in Canada.
The 37-year-old agriculture enthusiast was travelling to Toronto from California when the truck burst into flames.
He was active online, disseminating several write ups on rare fruit varieties. He was the first to introduce foreign varieties like abiu, black sapota, rollinia and safou in India.
Sreeju had involved in constant research on tropical fruit varieties. His house in Kozhencherry is a garden of fruit trees. Sreeju was staying at Ontario near Toronto with wife and child.
